Bonded Free Zones

Bonded Free Zones is an exhibition installation, that resulted out of a personal research towards “states of exception” in the canton of Geneva.

It consists of a gigantic map covering the whole county of Geneva, where some precise areas are carefully cut out.
The map is mirrored by a fence structure in the form of a cross. Four assistants dressed in black walk towards the structure, close it and open it again in the form of a square. It looks like a sleight. If one looks again, it is possible to understand that no-one will ever be able to get into the square.
